Gorillas Going Green
Could there be a message for us in this research? Gorillas on a processed food diet suffer from heart disease and other ailments. When the researchers change their diets to all natural foods, they lose weight and get generally healthier. Can we ignore the possible messages here for our health?
Even if this is somewhat of an anecdotal story and there’s no scientific link to our health, it’s still worthy of notice. To me, it just makes sense that natural foods are probably better than processed foods. And there’s no downside for us, there’s only potential upsides. If everyone started eating real, whole foods, the only downside would be for the companies that sell processed foods (is there any wonder why we see misleading advertising for processed foods all the time?).
